Now is your chance.For the first time since 2019, Grouse Mountain’s 24 Hours of Winter is back as part of the resort’s centennial celebrations. Yes, that means an actual full day and night of skiing, snowboarding, skating, stretching, snacking, and generally refusing to go to bed.“Snow sports have been drawing guests to Grouse Mountain for more than 100 years and remain at the heart of the mountain today,” shares Grouse Mountain’s community manager Emily Leak, in a release. “For a century, guests, families, and friends have gathered at The Peak of Vancouver to ski, snowboard, and create lasting memories. We’re thrilled to honour that legacy with the return of the epic 24 Hours of Winter event, for the first time since 2019, and to bring our community together in celebration of our shared love of winter.”Read: the mountain is turning into a 24-hour alpine playground.If you have ever wanted to carve turns under the stars and then watch the city flicker awake below you, this is your moment. There’s also a Gear Demo Day with Burton on Saturday, ideal for anyone looking to test-drive new equipment without committing on the spot.Once the sun dips, the spectacle ramps up. An LED torch parade will light up the mountain, followed by a late-night terrain park session dubbed Jam Over The City. For those who prefer blades to boards, there is a DJ skate party, while Altitudes hosts après with a DJ and food and drink specials.In other words, if you pace yourself properly, you could feasibly ski, dance, skate and then ski again before breakfast.Speaking of breakfast: Sunday morning brings a pancake breakfast by donation to Family Services of the North Shore.
