Arima Ederra Releases Essential New Album 'A Rush To Nowhere'
Skip to ContentNew MusicSlow Down, Breathe, And Listen To Arima Ederra’s Essential New Album A Rush To NowhereBy Margaret Farrell4:11 PM EST on March 6, 2026Share on FacebookShare on RedditShare on EmailShare on BlueskyI implore you to listen to Arima Ederra's sophomore album A Rush To Nowhere. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter's follow-up to 2022's An Orange Colored Day captures that feeling when your lungs make room for extra oxygen and life slows down. Things begin to feel more tangible, clearer.A Rush To Nowhere has an urgent '80s rock sentimentalism reminiscent of Dijon and Mk.gee. Ederra embroiders her songs with empathic messages. Sparse opener "In The Business Of Feeling" expounds on the malleability of this world and the glory that can come from love's power: "Please don't stop your feeling/ Hold your neighbor dearly/ Hate was never yours to hold." Elsewhere, she prizes her time, appreciates the chance to expand her lungs while taking the scenic route. "I just need a little more time to me," she declares on standout "Took The Long Way Home."Although kindness, empathy, and gratitude aren't the most novel song subjects, Ederra reminds us that they never lose their power when handled carefully. Time rushes us forward and we forget the important things. With the help of collaborators Teo Halm, Caleb Laven, Solomonphonic, and Rahm Silverglade, Ederra reminds us how precious they are, priceless gems unearthed anew.Ederra also shared this statement on her new oeuvre:Time isn't just what moves us forward, but what allows us to return, to remember, to becomeMusic has a way of stopping time especially when I need it mostcreating sanctuary in a world that never slows In that suspended moment is where I find myself most clearlyWriting this work revealed the many versions of me across timeThe multitudes I holdListen below.Share on FacebookShare on RedditShare on EmailShare on BlueskyMargaret FarrellRead More:Arima EderraGET THE STEREOGUM DIGESTThe week's most important music stories and least important music memes.EmailSign upMore from New MusicExplore New MusicNew MusicDeloyd Elze’s Deconstructed Country Ballads Sound Splendid On The New Nellene EPMarch 6, 2026New MusicDJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ – “HeartsDesires”March 6, 2026New MusicCindy Announce New Album Another Country: Hear “Procession”March 6, 2026New MusicGirl Scout – “Crumbs”March 6, 2026New MusicJohn Dwyer Shares Surprise New OSEES EP Cara Maluco, Damaged Bug Single “Over-Exposed”March 6, 2026New MusicFucked Up Announce Year Of The Monkey, Share Two Half-Hour TracksMarch 6, 2026
