READ MORE: Oscars 2026 winners – see the full list Advertisement Wiig, who co-wrote the beloved 2011 comedy movie with Annie Mumolo, noted that Bridesmaids is turning 15 years old this year. “We are not good with numbers, but we figured out backstage that means we shot this movie in 1883,” she joked A producer then came on stage to hand the actresses supposed “notes” from fellow stars attending this year’s Oscars. Byrne drew a big laugh for reading out her ‘note’, which read: “Rose, can you please stop looking at me? The eye contact is too much. I’m thinking of leaving. I’m very uncomfortable. Sincerely, Leonardo DiCaprio,” She then quipped in response: “I apologise. I have been staring at you. I thought you were somebody else.” Meanwhile, McCarthy’s note, supposedly from Stellan Skarsgård, stated: “All the things that you’ve done to your faces are very tasteful.” Recommended Check out the full bit below. Byrne was nominated for Best Actress at this year’s Oscars for her performance in If I Had Legs, I’d Kill You, but lost out on the night to Hamnet star Jessie Buckley. When it was released in 2011, Bridesmaids received widespread praise for its witty script, sharp performances and female-led take on the R-rated comedy genre. McCarthy was nominated for Best Supporting Actress that year, while Wiig and Mumolo picked up a Best Original Screenplay nomination. In addition to winning the prestigious Best Picture prize, the film’s writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson collected the awards for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. His film also won for Best Casting – a new category this year – as well as Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn.
