As for the awards, for the third time in Oscars history the Avatar franchise has bagged Best Visual Effects. Meanwhile F1: The Movie copped Best Sound and in a shocking twist for Best Live Action Short Film it was a tie. That's the first time that's happened since 2013. KPop Demon Hunters also soaked up the spotlight. It not only secured Best Animated Feature, but the audience were also treated to a performance of 'Golden' which by the way went on to become the first ever Kpop song to win an Oscar for Best Song. Australia's very own Rose Byrne was up for Best Actress this year, but missed out to Hamnet's Jessie Buckley. As for Best Actor that went to first time Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan for Sinners. But the big sweep of the evening was One Battle After Another. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, the action-drama film went into the night with a whopping 13 nominations and secured six awards including Best Director and Best Picture.IRANIAN SOCCER PLAYERSFive members of the Iranian women's soccer team have decided to return home. The team, which were here to play in the Women's Asian Cup, were offered by the Australian government the opportunity to stay here in Australia after the tournament finished. There had been calls from the public for the Aussie government to protect the players, after they were called traitors on Iranian State Television for not singing their national anthem at the start of their opening match. While seven team members had accepted the government's offer to stay in Australia and were granted humanitarian visas, five have now decided to return to Iran.WINTER PARALYMPICSIt's been an action packed 10 days at the Winter Paralympics in Milano-Cortina, Italy. In the end Australia won 2 medals and tied for 21st place with Poland. With snowboarder Ben Tudhope clinching both medals for Australia. Meanwhile, at just 16 years old, Liana France made history as Australia's Youngest Winter Paralympian.F1Oscar Piastri's F1 season is off to a rough start. After crashing on his way to the grid last week in Melbourne, he didn't even make the start at the Chinese Grand Prix. Both Piastri and team mate Lando Norris couldn't race because of separate electrical problems with their McLarens. But it was full speed ahead for 19‑year‑old Kimi Antonelli from Italy, who claimed his very first Formula One Victory.GOLFFinally, Hannah Green has won the Women's Australian Open. Just one shot separated Green from France's Agathe Laisné and fellow Aussie Cassie Porter, who tied for second place and the win marks Green's second victory of the season.DANISH ROYAL VISITFirst up and The Danish Royals are in town for Denmark's first Royal Tour in 40 years. King Frederik and Queen Mary, Who happens to have been born in Australia, arrived on the weekend and wasted no time taking in the sites. Including a trip to Uluru where they met with the Anangu traditional owners and a state dinner at the nation's capital.YOUNG DESIGNER10 year old Max has made history becoming the youngest fashion designer to show at Paris Fashion week. It took Max six months and a lot of work to make his collection. Max has been designing, draping and sewing haute couture gowns since he was 5 years old.CANBERRA BALLOON SPECTACULARThe Canberra Balloon Spectacular was held over the weekend. Which as the name suggests sees an array of hot air balloons fill the skies of the capital. Crowds turned out to watch, some even kayaked to get a better view. Although one kayaker got more than he bargained for when a Balloon crashed into him and knocked him into the water.
