The clip begins by alluding to the group’s hiatus in 2022, pausing their careers to enable the members to complete 18 months of mandatory South Korean military service, which they all completed by June 2025. A fan’s voice can be heard saying: “A part of my soul just died” referring to the news, before showing crowds at concerts chanting for the group. The band is then individually reintroduced, with members discussing their excitement at returning and titles inviting fans to “Witness The Homecoming”. A previous announcement for the event said that the live performance will be streaming exclusively on Netflix on March 21 at 8pm KST (11am GMT). Recommended An official statement read: “Broadcast live from Gwanghwamun, one of Seoul’s most iconic and symbolic landmarks, the event marks BTS’ first global stage performance and celebrates the release of their highly anticipated new album, ‘ARIRANG’, slated for release on March 20. “Through its partnership with HYBE, Netflix will bring BTS’s long-awaited comeback to millions of viewers across the globe.” The stream will be followed by documentary BTS: The Return, premiering on the streaming service on March 27. The statement describes it as “an intimate documentary film chronicling the making of the band’s new album” that “offers fans a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the journey behind BTS’s highly-anticipated return.” Last month, BTS want to stay together “into our 60s”, despite member RM saying he’s considered disbanding “thousands of times” due to stress.
