Today Moises, an AI music production platform, announced that they've welcomed Puth onboard as their Chief Music Officer.Moises uses a number of AI models to assist in basic music production operations on a song, like extracting vocals, removing individual instruments, or changing the tempo or key. Puth has previously mentioned that he's used AI in the studio before. In a press release today announcing his new gig, he said:I’ve been using Moises in my own creative process for years, as have many of my friends. It opens up possibilities that used to take hours or expensive studio setups, whether that’s isolating vocals to study technique or experimenting with arrangements in real time. AI, when done right, isn’t here to replace musicians. It’s here to help artists learn, explore, and bring their ideas to life.Along with the announcement, Moises and Puth launched a new competition encouraging fans to use the platform to remix his new single "Beat Yourself Up." Incidentally, this week SCOTUS rejected an appeal on a lower-court ruling that says works generated entirely by AI without human authorship are not eligible for copyright protection in the United States. That's certainly not bad news, but as AI platforms continue to benefit more and more from celebrity endorsement, the lines continue to blur.Share on FacebookShare on RedditShare on EmailShare on BlueskyAbby Jones@abbyfjones_Read More:Charlie PuthGET THE STEREOGUM DIGESTThe week's most important music stories and least important music memes.EmailSign upMore from NewsExplore NewsNewsCourtney Love & Melissa Auf der Maur Tease Hole Reunion TourMarch 4, 2026NewsAlysa Liu Wants To Skate To “Fire In My Heart” – No, Not The Simple Plan SongMarch 3, 2026NewsAmbient Drone From Supermarket Freezers Is The UK’s Latest Music SensationMarch 3, 2026NewsAs Skid Row Audition New Vocalists, Sebastian Bach Will Front Twisted SisterMarch 3, 2026NewsLit Sue Sony, Say ’90s Label Deal Guaranteed 50% Of Streaming RoyaltiesMarch 3, 2026NewsArt Sorority Teams With Snow Ellet On New EP Critical DistanceMarch 3, 2026
