Opportunities to be part of the entertainment industry in Prince Albert will open up as Choke cherry Productions holds auditions for roles in their forthcoming variety show. The show will serve as a fundraiser for the Prince Albert Public Library. Auditions will take place at the Prince Albert Public Library on Saturday, Mar. 7 between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.“We want to put on a variety show at the Library Auditorium and this is to be a fundraiser for the library to help them pay for new seats in the Auditorium,” Hank Ethier, one of the Producer in Chokecherry Productions said. “As the name implies, we are looking for  different kind of talents to put on stage.”Ethier said Chokecherry Productions is looking for something different from the usual performances that the Prince Albert community is used to. The audition is open to all ages and experience levels like singers, dancers, poets, musicians and actors or actresses.“We have  a lot of singers and musicians in Prince Albert and they are fabulous but we also  want to have some people that maybe give something different like a ballet, a solo, or maybe a skit or if someone has written short play or instrumental,” Ethier said. “We also have a lot of immigrants in Prince Albert so we are looking to see blend or mixture of that variety. That’s why we call it a variety show.”Ethier said they haven’t decided on a final date for the Variety Show, but they’re aiming for one of the weekends in May. He said attendees can expect to see a variety of talents.Ethier is a co-producer for Chokecherry Productions with Amanda Kapp. -Advertisement-
