Colter Wall Takes Live Music Hiatus For Mental Health Reasons
Skip to ContentNewsColter Wall Takes “Indefinite Hiatus From Live Music” For Mental Health ReasonsBy Tom Breihan11:38 AM EDT on March 11, 2026Share on FacebookShare on RedditShare on EmailShare on BlueskyJake ZielkeColter Wall is a Saskatchewan-raised singer-songwriter who makes old-school country music and who famously works on his ranch when he isn't doing music stuff. Wall released his album Memories And Empties last year, and he's been touring behind the album for much of this year. He's not doing that anymore. In an Instagram statement posted this morning, Wall writes that he's "mentally unwell" and that time on the road has been negatively affecting him, and he says he's canceling all shows and taking "an indefinite hiatus from live music." Here's what he says:Myself and the band and crew are very grateful for the privilege to play music together for you. We thank you for it.The truth is that I am mentally unwell. Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result my mental health has only further declined. After discussions with my team, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows and take an indefinite hiatus from live music.Thank you for your understanding and support. Tickets will be refunded automatically from original point of purchase. Wall's most recent show was Monday night in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was set to begin a two-night stand in Indianapolis tonight, and he had four shows left on his tour. Here's hoping he gets the help and the rest that he needs.Share on FacebookShare on RedditShare on EmailShare on BlueskyTom Breihan@tombreihan.bsky.socialRead More:Colter WallGET THE STEREOGUM DIGESTThe week's most important music stories and least important music memes.EmailSign upMore from NewsExplore NewsNewsKaty Perry Loses 16-Year Trademark Fight With Fashion DesignerMarch 11, 2026NewsGouge Away – “Figurine”March 11, 2026NewsNoah Kahan Defends Chappell Roan After Paparazzi Incident, Boy George Says She Should “Cheer Up”March 11, 2026NewsThe Lemon Twigs Announce New Album Look For Your Mind!: Hear “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You”March 11, 2026NewsMJ Lenderman Pens Foreword For Penguin Classics Edition Of Harry Crews’ BodyMarch 10, 2026NewsDionne Warwick Preps Final Album, Sues Rights Firm, Gets Dissed By Lisa RinnaMarch 10, 2026
