Only a couple of weeks after Hardy blew the roof off Rogers Forum, another American musician who boasts a blend of country and rock has announced he is coming to Abbotsford as well.
Koe Wetzel has been pursuing music for years, which is something he inherited from his mother, Julie Wetzel, who spent years singing in various bands and introduced her son to the stage life at an early age.
As an adult, the Texan has intertwined several different genres, creating what he describes as a unique blend of country, rock, hip hop, and grunge.
His most recent album, 9 Lives, is the sixth of his career and was his second album to be certified gold after peaking at number five on Billboard’s US Country chart.
Wetzel is perhaps best known for his 2024 single High Road, which features vocals from Jessie Murph and has accumulated more than 330 million streams.
Some of his other most-streamed songs include 2016’s Something to Talk About and 2020’s Drunk Driving.

He has also revealed that a new album is coming out this summer, just in time for the recently announced batch of international shows.
Titled The Night Champion World Tour, this new collection of shows includes a few Canadian stops later this year.

The Canadian shows begin on July 8 in Edmonton before travelling west to Penticton for a July 10 show. The final stop north of the border is in Abbotsford at Rogers Forum on Saturday, July 11.
Opening for this show is rising country star Bayker Blankenship, who has already had a small taste of fame with his 2024 single Maxed Out.
