Rated R. There are ways to go about making an obsessive-fan-turns-something-sinister movie, and B.C. director Emma Higgins chose the option labelled  “stylish”. Higgins, who cut her teeth making music videos, is squarely in her wheelhouse with this story about Rylee (Alberta’s Katie Hellett, with a straight-up astounding performance) and her obsession with a Harry Styles-esque popstar in Payton Adler (Herman Tømmeraas).Higgins of course handles the live performance and concert stuff without flaw, but she also creates a killer mood (literally) that sets the backdrop for this dark and twisted cautionary tale.
