Watch the trailer for Rooster here: The show so far has been praised by critics, with an 88 per cent score on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes and a consensus that reads: “Rooster nestles in with humour and heart thanks to Steve Carell’s soothing performance and Danielle Deadwyler’s exuberant support, leading Bill Lawrence’s kind-spirited, good-time new series to lovely heights.” Every song on the Rooster soundtrack Recommended The show features a theme song from former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, who has joined forces with Andrew Watt, Josh Klinghoffer and Travis Barker for the song ‘I Played The Fool’. It is the first new song from Stipe in three years. “I’m thrilled to lend my voice to Rooster – as a giant fan of everyone involved, it’s a real honour to be included with ‘I Played The Fool’,” the singer has said. Rooster co-creator Tarses added: “When Andrew Watt told us he thought he could get Michael Stipe to write and record a new song for us, we said, ‘Cool, good luck with that’. We knew this would never happen. But a few months later, Andrew sent an early demo of ‘I Played the Fool’. And when I listened to it on my phone, I cried. I really did. Saying we are excited to have this great song and this iconic voice on our main title is a huge understatement.” In addition, the following songs have featured in the show so far: Advertisement EPISODE ONE  New Order – ‘Age Of Consent’ Fun Boy Three – ‘Our Lips Are Sealed’ Soft Focus – ‘Firing Line’ Yaz – ‘Only You’ John Moran – ‘Make It With Me’ Wayne Murray – ‘Baby You Are A Star’ Violent Femmes – ‘Kiss Off’ Related TopicsExplainerHBOHBO MaxMichael StipeNew OrderR.E.M.Violent Femmes You May Also Like Advertisement TRENDING ‘Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere’ review: one of the greatest documentaries of his career Dive into I Promised The World’s crowd catharsis: “Don’t just stand there, it’s a hardcore show” Mandy, Indiana’s speaker-blowing noise-punk is here to galvanise The Kooks to play The Great Escape 20th anniversary show presented by NME The biggest video game concerts you can’t miss in 2026 Advertisement More Stories Film News ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ ending explained: does Tommy Shelby escape the life he created?  News Every song on the ‘Young Sherlock’ soundtrack Film News Every song on ‘The Bride!’ soundtrack Film News The ending of ‘Scream 7’ explained: does Sidney Prescott finally defeat Ghostface?  News Every song on the Vladimir soundtrack  News The ending of ‘Industry’ season four explained: Did Harper manage to win the battle against Tender?
