His life takes a dangerous turn when an old friend brings him into an underground arena, where fighters bear “God skin” tattoos. Set against the neon-drenched streets of Bangkok, the film features high-octane choreography from the same team behind “Ong-Bak,” the iconic Thai martial arts masterpiece. M Studio has also revealed “Exchange,” a horror-mystery directed by Chatchai Hongsirikun, slated for release Nov. 5. The film follows a Thai mother searching for her missing 18-year-old exchange student daughter in Canada. As she investigates, she discovers an eerie mystery surrounding the host family and is forced to “confront forces that may have taken over her child’s body.” The film stars Sutthirak Subvijitra (“My Boo”) and Denise Jelilcha Kapaun (“Death Whisperer”). The Bangkok-based company, which produces 10-15 films a year, has become a driving force in Thai cinema, with particularly strong traction in the competitive Southeast Asian market. Its 2023 release of “Death Whisperer” (aka “Tee Yod”) was especially notable, smashing Thai box office records with local earnings exceeding $14 million.
