How Samara Weaving's 'Scream VI' Wardrobe Paid Homage to 'Ready or Not' - Bloody Disgusting

Samara Weaving in 'Scream VI' It’s no secret that Radio Silence directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett paid tribute to their film Ready or Not in Scream VI with a character dressed as Grace in the subway scene, but Samara Weaving has revealed that her wardrobe in the opening scene is also a nod to the character. “They invited me onto set when they were filming the scene on the train, they had someone dressed up as Grace in the background, which was really cool,” Weaving told Deadline. “And Avery Plewes, the costume designer, did Scream as well with them.” Weaving continued, “We put me in an outfit as a little homage to it as well. The yellow dress that I was in, it’s yellow because of the Chucks, and it’s a turtleneck and tight, kind of like the wedding dress. And then I had like a bun similar to the opening of Ready or Not, so there were little hints of it.” Weaving and Radio Silence reunite on Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, out March 20 via Searchlight Pictures. Picking up moments after the all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne round out the cast. Weaver’s other upcoming films include Over Your Dead Body, in theaters April 24, and Carolina Caroline, due out later this year.
