Juno Temple on Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die: Podcast

The actress recently spoke with Kyle Meredith about starring in the new sci-fi dark comedy Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die, the long-awaited return of director Gore Verbinski, and the film’s stacked cast led by Sam Rockwell. The story follows a chaotic group of diner patrons recruited by a mysterious time traveler to stop an AI-driven apocalypse — a premise that mixes social media panic, big laughs, and some surprisingly emotional stakes. Related Video Temple says the script first arrived while she was already working nights on another blockbuster, and the combination of director and cast immediately grabbed her attention. “I was shooting Venom 3 in Spain doing these epic night shoots when the script came into my inbox,” she recalls. “I had this double-take moment like, ‘Wait, what have I just been sent? A movie that Gore Verbinski is directing with Sam Rockwell starring? Oh my god.’” Once she started reading, Temple couldn’t put it down. “The sun was fully up by the time I finished it. It was such a roller coaster of a script… you had no idea where it was going next.” Part of what drew Temple in was how the film balances absurdity with very real themes. “I was laughing a lot, then feeling the immense tragedy of it and getting really emotional,” she says. “It’s frightening at moments and then weirdly hopeful.” The actor also points to the collaborative energy on set, especially with Rockwell leading the charge. “The cast were unbelievable.
