Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight's release date moves up a week
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Sign in to your Polygon.com account From AAA blockbusters like Grand Theft Auto 6 to under-the-radar indie hits, any game you're looking forward to can get delayed at any time. Much less common, on the other hand, are games whose release dates get pushed up. That's exactly what's happening to the next Lego Batman game, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, helping ease the wait for the Dark Knight's next outing just a tad. Publisher Warner Bros. Games is moving the release date for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight up a week. It'll now launch May 22 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X — a week earlier than its planned May 29 release. (Sorry, Nintendo Switch 2 owners. The game is still without a release date for Nintendo's newest platform.) "You signaled. He answered," reads the YouTube trailer description. Hype for Legacy of the Dark Knight has been bat-signal-high since its Gamescom reveal last summer. It's a bit of a successor to Rocksteady's Arkham series, something fans have been starved for since 2015's Batman: Arkham Knight, and it's taking inspiration from various Batman films, like the Michael Keaton movies and 2022's The Batman. Polygon got a chance to play the next Lego Batman at Gamescom after its reveal and enjoyed its brawling, stealth mechanics, and exploration. "In terms of blocky designs and top-notch animation quality, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was exactly what I expected when I played the demo," our preview said. Pre-orders are now available for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Anyone who pre-orders will receive a Batsuit inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, while those who opt for the deluxe edition will be able to start playing on May 19. The deluxe edition will include additional cosmetics and DLC missions where you can play as The Joker and Harley, to be released later in 2026. Head to the game's official site for full details on the deluxe edition. Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released May 22 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
