Mike Flanagan Signs Multi-Year TV Deal with Amazon MGM Studios - Bloody Disgusting

Mike Flanagan on the set of 'Doctor Sleep' Modern master of horror Mike Flanagan (“The Haunting of Hill House,” Doctor Sleep) has signed a multi-year overall deal with Amazon MGM Studios, under which he will develop and produce original series exclusively for the studio, Deadline reports. The first project under the new partnership is Flanagan’s adaptation of Stephen King‘s “Carrie,” which was shot last year and is eyeing an October premiere. In the eight-part series, misfit high-schooler Carrie White has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers. Summer H. Howell stars as Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Josie Toah as Tina Blake, Arthur Conti as Billy Nolan, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Amber Midthunder as Rita Desjardian, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle. Recurring guest stars include Sackhoff, Heather Graham, Kate Siegel, Michael Trucco, Rahul Kohli, Crystal Balint, Danielle Klaudt, Tim Bagley, Tahmoh Penikett, Mapuana Makia, Naika Toussaint, Delainey Hayles, Cassandra Naud, and Rowan Danielle. Flanagan enters production this week on The Exorcist, due out on March 12, 2027. He’s also attached to a new adaptation of King’s The Mist, and he co-wrote DC’s comic book horror movie Clayface, releasing October 23. With any luck, the new Amazon deal will bring Flanagan’s long-awaited adaptation of King’s The Dark Tower to fruition.
