Conceived as Netflix’s global production and innovation studio in India, the Hyderabad facility will specialize in high-end VFX work, virtual production and emerging production technologies, integrating into the streamer’s worldwide production infrastructure. It is the fifth location in Eyeline’s global network, alongside studios in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul and London. Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro said India’s appeal went beyond scale. “India has long played a defining role in global visual effects, not just because of scale, but because of the depth of creative and technical talent here,” he said, adding that Hyderabad stood out for its technology backbone, engineering capability and film culture. Revanth Reddy called Hyderabad a “natural home” for the streamer. “In many ways, both Netflix and Hyderabad are gateways bringing together opportunities and talent from across the globe,” he said. Jaju, who noted that Shapiro had approached the ministry just last year before the rapid launch came together, pointed to the city’s track record in the sector. “Hyderabad has a huge history in AVGC. Most major Hollywood studios already have small offices in Hyderabad,” he said.
