The Mississauga fire broke out around 12:50 a.m. at 3350 American Dr. and is believed to have been set by up to four males using an accelerant before fleeing on foot. About two hours later, a tow truck was set on fire near Ray Lawson Boulevard and Kingknoll Drive in Brampton; no suspect information is currently available. Police are investigating whether the incidents are connected and note they are exploring all possible avenues amid a recent string of similar tow truck fires in the region. Peel Regional Police are investigating two suspected arson incidents after two trucks and a building were set on fire overnight in Peel Region. Police told Now Toronto that at approximately 12:50 a.m., officers responded to a structure fire at 3350 American Dr. in Mississauga. Investigators later determined the fire was deliberately started. According to police, up to four suspects described as males wearing dark clothing, used an accelerant to ignite the building before fleeing the area on foot. Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze. Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and forensic services are expected to remain on scene throughout the day. Shortly afterward, at approximately 2:55 a.m., officers responded to reports of a tow truck on fire at a residence near Ray Lawson Boulevard and Kingknoll Drive in Brampton. This incident is also being investigated as arson. Advertisement Police say there is currently no suspect information available in that case. Peel Regional Police say it is too early to determine whether the two incidents are connected; however, investigators are exploring all possible avenues. The fires come just two days after a tow truck was deliberately set on fire in a separate arson case near Balmoral Drive and Dixie Road in Brampton, in the driveway of a home. Police are also investigating another incident in which three tow trucks were set ablaze overnight on April 21. Those fires occurred within 30 minutes of each other.
