Sign up for our free newsletter.Metal fans were in for a treat at Rogers Forum in Abbotsford last week as thrash metal heavies Megadeth, Anthrax, and Exodus played the second show of their cross-Canada '26 tour. Exodus, considered a pioneer in the genre, blasted the audience with a scorching set of screaming guitars and new front-man Rob Dukes solid vocals.Anthrax were up next with more of their classic metal tunes from the forty plus year library blasting from an awesome wall of EVH speakers across the stage. Joey Belladonna was back on vocals and still has Energizer-bunny level stage presence from side to side. Guitar solos and pounding rhythms kept the crowd screaming and surfing.Megadeth opened their set with 'Tipping Point', starting from behind a kabuki drop which brought the crazed fans at the front barricade to a frothing level of excitement. Dave Mustain, resplendent in a white dress shirt and flowing blond hair led the band through classics and new stuff. The tour is supporting the release of their latest and final studio album, aptly named 'Megadeth'. The first three were all we were permitted to see but there was relief exiting into the cold night air as it stopped the face from melting any further.
