The band recorded the upcoming Hotwire Trip Switch with longtime collaborator and Hop Along/Algernon Cadwallader member Joe Reinhart, and they say that it's a "singles" record — one where all the songs hit hard on their own. I haven't heard anything else on Hotwire Trip Switch yet, but I can confirm that Prince Daddy & The Hyena's new song "Big-Box Store Heart" definitely works as its own thing. It's a revved-up, lovelorn power-pop track with some serious early Weezer energy.
