Ringo Starr Announces New Album Long Long Road, Shares "It’s Been Too Long"
Ringo Starr has announced he is remaining in the country space with his new album, Long Long Road, out April 24th. As the first teaser, he has released “It’s Been Too Long” featuring guest vocals from Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz. Stream it below. Like his 2025 return to country, Look Up, Starr’s upcoming album was made in close collaboration with T Bone Burnett, who once again produced the entire project. He also co-wrote six tracks. Long Long Road includes one of the two songs Carl Perkins recorded with The Beatles: “I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore.” Get Ringo Starr Tickets Here The forthcoming release was recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles with a core band of musicians that Burnett calls The Texans, after a 1959 band Ringo played with in Liverpool: Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tashian, Rory Hoffman, Patrick Warren, and Colin Linden. The 10-track LP also features collaborations with Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, and St. Vincent. I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, like you can go left or right at any point, and one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road.” Steeped in country and Americana, the lyrics to the first single, “It’s Been Too Long,” can be read as a call for unity just as easily as a pining for lost love. “Yeah, it’s been too long since we’ve listened to one another,” Starr sings. “It’s been too long since we dreamed mighty dreams/ It’s been too long since we’ve floated downstream/ Together, together.” Fans will likely have the opportunity to hear live debuts of Long Long Road material on Ringo Starr and His All Star Band’s upcoming US spring tour.
