Roku Adds 12 New Free Channels On Roku TVs & Roku Players Including Channels From PBS & The BBC | Cord Cutters News
Roku Adds 12 New Free Channels On Roku TVs & Roku Players Including Channels From PBS & The BBC By Luke Bouma on November 18, 2025 in Uncategorized Roku today added 12 brand-new channels available immediately to all users at no extra cost on Roku TVs and Roku Players from The Roku Channel. The update brings a diverse mix of classic series, international drama, nature and travel documentaries, mystery programming, lifestyle content, and Spanish-language entertainment, further solidifying The Roku Channel as one of the most robust free streaming destinations in the United States and select international markets. The new channels appear across various numerical positions in The Roku Channel’s live TV guide, making them easy to discover alongside the service’s existing 400-plus free linear channels. Viewers can now tune directly to the following additions: Channel 343: Heartland Classic Full episodes of the long-running Canadian family drama Heartland, focusing on life, horses, and family bonds in the Alberta foothills. Channel 369: BBC Drama A dedicated feed of acclaimed British drama series from the BBC’s extensive catalog, including fan-favorite period pieces and contemporary stories. Channel 498: PBS Travel Immersive travel programming from PBS stations nationwide, taking audiences everywhere from hidden European villages to remote corners of the American West. Channel 499: PBS Nature Award-winning nature and wildlife documentaries produced by PBS, showcasing everything from deep-ocean exploration to big-cat conservation efforts. Channel 547: Acorn TV Mysteries A curated selection of British and international mystery and crime series previously exclusive to the Acorn TV subscription service. Channel 555: Grownday Network Family-friendly lifestyle and light entertainment programming (note: branding appears as “Grownday,” though some early listings referenced “Grounday”). Channel 730: BBC Adventures High-energy adventure and exploration content from the BBC archives, including daring expeditions and survival stories. Channel 731: Braxton Family Adventures Reality follow-ups and specials featuring the Braxton sisters as they travel and tackle new experiences together. Channel 732: Bridezillas The iconic wedding-reality series that chronicles brides in the intense final weeks before their big day. Channel 931: Teleports Ahora Fast-paced Spanish-language entertainment and variety programming aimed at younger Latino audiences. Channel 952: Homeful en Español Spanish-language home improvement, real estate, and lifestyle content focused on design, renovation, and property tours. Channel 989: Cucando Los Ángeles A vibrant Spanish-language channel celebrating Los Angeles culture, food, music, and community events (title stylized as “Cucando los Angeles”). This wave of additions continues Roku’s aggressive push to make premium and niche content available for free through advertising support rather than subscriptions. The inclusion of Acorn TV mysteries and multiple BBC-branded feeds marks another step in Roku’s strategy of bringing content typically locked behind paywalls into its ad-supported ecosystem. Similarly, the new Spanish-language trio (Teleports Ahora, Homeful en Español, and Cucando Los Ángeles) significantly strengthens The Roku Channel’s appeal to U.S. Hispanic households, an audience segment that has grown increasingly important to streaming platforms. No subscription or sign-in is required to access any of the new channels; viewers simply open The Roku Channel app or select the Live TV tile on the Roku home screen and scroll to the assigned channel numbers. The content rotates on a scheduled basis, similar to traditional cable, with new episodes and specials appearing regularly. The new channels went live quietly over the weekend, and Roku has not yet announced any formal promotional campaign, though featured banners began appearing on Roku home screens Monday morning. Viewers looking for British drama, PBS documentaries, mystery series, or Spanish-language lifestyle content now have even more reasons to turn to The Roku Channel first, all at no additional cost.
