Advertisement At the event itself, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami will be performing hit ‘Golden’ from the animated film, while Sinners star Miles Caton and songwriter Raphael Saadiq’s performance of the stirring ‘I Lied to You.’ The latter will feature a larger homage involving ballet dancers, musicians, and actors from the film. Oscars showrunner Raj Kapoor and executive producer Katy Mullan said in an official statement: “This year, our music performances are inspired by two of the most powerful cultural phenomena in film: Sinners, the most nominated film in Oscars history, and KPop Demon Hunters, a global pop culture sensation.” They continued: “These show moments are more than just performances — they expand into cinematic tributes that celebrate the relationship between music and storytelling and why these films resonated so deeply with audiences around the world.” The singing stars of KPop Demon Hunters recently performed ‘Golden’ at the BAFTAs, which can be viewed below. Other films contending for the big awards are One Battle After Another with 13 nominations, Frankenstein, Marty Supreme, and Sentimental Value with nine nods each, while drama Hamnet is competing in eight categories. Recommended The Oscars will be broadcast on ABC and Hulu in the US, while UK viewers can watch on ITV and streaming service ITVX from 11pm UK time. Recently, Sinners star Wunmi Mosaku said she couldn’t celebrate her first Oscar nomination because of the “truly dystopian” political unrest in US. “There’s a very strange American psyche where terrible things happen and people still can go to work the next day,” she remarked.
