Community fans have been waiting for their "six seasons and a movie" ever since Danny Pudi first shouted those words in a season 2 episode that aired in 2011. At the time, it was a joke at the expense of a short-lived NBC superhero series, The Cape, but when Community came to an end with season 6 in 2015, a final shot promised simply #andamovie. Then, nothing... until 2022, when Peacock announced plans for a Community movie that would reunite the original cast (minus Chevy Chase, whose character Pierce Hawthorne was killed off in season 5). Filming was supposed to start in 2024, but has been delayed due to the difficulty of getting the entire cast together at once — Donald Glover seems particularly busy these days.

So when presented with the opportunity to ask a few questions of Community star Gillian Jacobs about her role in Invincible season 4, which airs later this month on Prime Video, we knew we had to ask for a Community movie update. Jacobs didn't have much to offer, but her Invincible co-star Steven Yeun, who was also on the Zoom call, took the opportunity to pitch himself for the film. "I know nothing, and that's the truth," Jacobs told Polygon. "So I don't know. I think we all would love to do it. It's pretty incredible that this show that we started in 2009 — people still want a movie in 2026. So I'm just appreciative that you or anyone else would like more of the characters and more of the world." At this point, Yeun jumped in. "Oh my God, let me be in it," he said. "Can I? I love Community."
"Oh my God, please," Jacobs replied. So there you have it: Steven Yeun wants to be in the Community movie, and maybe he will be — if it ever actually happens. In the meantime, Invincible season 4 debuts March 18 on Prime Video.
