Before “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85” invades your home, it’s coming to the big screen.
The first two episodes of the animated spinoff will screen in 34 theaters across the country on April 18, ahead of the series’ Netflix launch on April 23.
Attendees will receive an exclusive collectible while supplies last. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, March 18, at 8am PT.
Set in the winter of 1985, snow blankets the town and the horrors of the Upside Down are finally fading. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max have settled back into a normal life of D&D, snowball fights, and quiet days.
But beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. Could it be from the Upside Down? From the depths of Hawkins Lab? Or from somewhere else entirely? Our heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins.
Eric Robles (“Fanboy & Chum Chum”) serves as showrunner, with Flying Bark Productions (“What If…?,” “Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) as the animation studio.
It stars Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, Brett Gipson as Hopper, and Jeremy Jordan as Steve.
The cast also includes Odessa A’zion as newcomer Nikki Baxter along with Janeane Garofalo and Lou Diamond Phillips in yet-to-be-revealed roles.
“Stranger Things” creators Matt & Ross Duffer executive produce with Hilary Leavitt on behalf of Upside Down Pictures, alongside Shawn Levy via 21 Laps, Dan Cohen, and Robles.
A full trailer for “Stranger Things: Tales from ’85” is expected soon.

Ella Purnell (“Fallout,” “Yellowjackets”) is back as unassuming serial killer Rhiannon Lewis in the first image from “Sweetpea” Season 2.
The “deviously twisted coming-of-rage story” is set to return later this year on Starz in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
In the series, wallflower Rhiannon Lewis is pushed over the edge and loses control. Her life transforms as she steps into a new, intoxicating power, but can she keep her killer secret?
The kill list mounts in Season 2 as Rhiannon navigates a new promotion, an irresistible rebound, and a copycat killer threatening to expose her. Meanwhile, she’s forced to question whether her perfect ex was right: Is she a monster?
Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra, and Alexandra Dowling return to star alongside Purnell, joined by new additions Rish Shah, Tamsin Greig, Taj Atwal, and Jenny Walser.
Created by Kirstie Swain, “Sweetpea” is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by CJ Skuse.
