Take Your Time Back announces it can no longer host live music | Georgia Straight Vancouver’s source for arts, culture, and events

The East Vancouver all-ages venue, which has served as an important incubator for many of the city's young new bands, posted the news on its Instagram page. The announcement started off with: "It’s with a heavy heart that I must share some bad news. For the purposes of this post I am going to keep it brief and accurate, but if you would like to read a more emotional recounting of what this means and what the future may hold, I (luis) will be sharing a longer letter soon.Essentially, we have been confronted by the city and will not be able to continue hosting shows after March 22nd."Take Your Time Back rose out of the ashes of 648 Kingsway, which announced its closure in 2024, citing rising rents as the main factor.
