READ MORE: The biggest video game concerts you can’t miss in 2026 Post-rock group Son Lux have scored the trippy Everything Everywhere All At Once and scrappy MCU blockbuster Thunderbolts*, but the band’s Ryan Lott has also been working on the soundtrack to Bungie’s first-person shooter Marathon. Advertisement In recent months, early previews of the soundtrack have blown up on social media and inspired remixes from fans. An official taster EP was released last month and earlier this week, Lott teamed up with Poppy for the vibey Marathon anthem ‘In Death We’ve Just Begun’. Marathon launched yesterday (March 5)  and now, the full soundtrack is available to stream. The 42 tracks are split across two albums – ‘Vol. One: Somewhere In The Heavens’ and ‘Vol. Two: They Are Waiting’. Check them out below: “To get in the ground level of a process of literally building worlds was really intoxicating,” said Lott in a behind the scenes clip. “Something that was really inspiring about the concept of the game was that you relinquish your human body for a ‘Runner’ shell. You hold onto your soul, you take you with you, but you leave your body behind. I thought, what better way to take the human voice, which is the soul of your person, and transform it into these playable instruments. Recommended “I love that feeling of [that world] being neon but crusty and falling apart at the same time. To me, that has a sound. I was inspired by these environments full of bugs that are half-mechanical and had escaped from the labs, things that create creaks or whispers,” he continued. “I’m looking for the emotion in every little thing, and ultimately that’s what it is – I’m painting with feelings.” Marathon launched yesterday and already has a “very positive” user review score on Steam. In other news, Microsoft has officially announced that the next-generation Xbox console is being developed under the codename Project Helix. The upcoming console will “lead in performance and play your Xbox and PC games,” said new Xbox boss Asha Sharma.
