Following a delay, Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence has reemerged with an imminent release date. It'll be out March 31 for Android and iOS devices, Ubisoft announced today during The Division's 10th anniversary stream. You can pre-register now to get gold weapon skins for launch. First revealed in 2022, The Division Resurgence is the free-to-play mobile spinoff of Ubisoft's series of third-person loot shooters (which deserves some credit with popularizing the now-ubiquitous extraction shooter genre, thanks to a fan-favorite mode in the game). Initially planned for a 2024 release, Ubisoft delayed Resurgence in 2024. (Just so we're all on the same page, The Division Resurgence was not The Division Heartland, a planned free-to-play game that was also canceled in 2024.) Ubisoft conducted closed tests for the game in late 2025.
Ubisoft announced the news with a trailer detailing your player character, who wakes up after a monthlong coma in Manhattan, shortly after the events of the first game. The gameplay looks much like the mainline Division games: third-person shooting in a near-futuristic vision of New York City that's been upended by a devastating pandemic.
Elsewhere in the stream, Ubisoft teased new DLC for The Division 2, set in Central Park. Ubisoft will also run play tests for Survivors, a true-to-form extraction shooter mode for The Division 2, later this year. No date on either of those yet. In the meantime, The Division 2 will run its 10th anniversary season through March 24, which includes a realism mode (reduced time-to-kill, "realistic" weapon damage) and free access to 2020's Warlords of New York expansion.
