Once again, Variety will work with a team at Gold House to select the eight Asian Pacifics making an impact across entertainment. The list will comprise of changemakers. Together with Gold House, Variety will look to honor leaders across TV, film, music and theater, including actors, artisans and industry executives, to highlight rising Asian Pacific talent across the global entertainment industry. Variety’s senior artisans editor Jazz Tangcay said, “Championing bold storytellers and those who break boundaries is something Variety has long done. Once again, it’s an honor to unite with the team at Gold House to find the next group of visionaries in our industry who embody the richness of the Asian Pacific community.” She continued, “Together with Gold House, we’re looking for those who are opening doors, and making waves.” Tiffany Chao, vice president of entertainment & media at non-profit cultural ecosystem Gold House, said, “We’re excited to bring back 8 API Up Next for a third year as we continue to see more textured, culturally fluent Asian Pacific storytelling emerging across film and television.” Previous recipients include “The Studio’s” Chase Sui Wonders, “Severance” star Dichen Lachman, “Moana 2” co-director Dana LeDoux Miller, “The Last of Us” and “Beef” star Young Mazino, “Didi” director Sean Wang and more. Variety is looking for rising Asian Pacifics in the aforementioned fields to be considered for this list. Submissions are due April 3 via this form.
