The new season of the comedy-drama anthology series is set to premiere on April 16, just over three years after the first season was released. Season one starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as strangers whose involvement in a road rage incident blew up into a longer feud, while season two is set to take place in a country club.
Advertisement Spaeny and Melton play newly-engaged couple Ashley Miller and Austin Davis, both staffers at the club, who “become entangled in the unravelling marriage of their general manager … and his wife.”
Isaac plays the manager, Joshua Martin, with Mulligan playing his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martin. After coming across the married couple in the middle of a fight – Isaac holding a golf club – Miller and Davis become involved in a protracted war with them. Watch the chaos begin to unfold here:
While the trailer doesn’t give a great deal away, the synopsis adds, “Through favours and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who struggles to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho).”
Also set to appear in the second season, meanwhile, are Seoyeon Jang, William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover and Matthew Kim, also known as rapper BM.

Creator Lee Sung Jin explained that he wanted the core conflict to be between people of similar ages, rather than simply old and young battling – for this reason, he decided to put a Gen Z pair against a millennial couple. “What if we actually made them a little bit closer in age and highlight that generational divide?” he asked Netflix’s Tudum.
He added that Miller and Davis, as a younger couple, “have never been tested,” in comparison to their millennial counterparts. “Austin and Ashley think all they need is each other and the beach. So when we meet them, they are thrust into intersecting with our millennial couple,” Lee said. “It’ll be interesting to see with these two how they react to life’s first real struggles.”
Upon season one’s release in 2023, Beef was hailed as the best show of the year so far and even one of Netflix’s top original series by viewers. “I just finished #BEEFNetflix and wow,” one fan wrote on X (Twitter) at the time. “One of the best shows I’ve seen in a while. “Amazing performances all around. Yeun and Wong are fantastic. Funny, thrilling and anxiety-inducing. What a show. Netflix has a WINNER.”
“I don’t watch much TV but I accidentally started watching a show called Beef on Netflix, not knowing anything about it,” another fan wrote. “I am about four episodes in and honestly … It’s one of the best shows I’ve ever watched.”
