With upcoming Gothic thriller “Victorian Psycho” confirmed for Cannes, an additional member of the cast has now been announced.
Evie Templeton, the rising British star best known for her breakout turn as Agnes DeMille in the second season of Netflix hit “Wednesday,” stars in the film, which will premiere in the Un Certain Regard competition.
Templeton — who also starred in 2024’s supernatural horror “Return to Silent Hill” — takes on the role of Drusilla Pounds, starring alongside Maika Monroe, Thomasin McKenzie, Jason Isaacs, Ruth Wilson and Jacobi Jupe. The film has just been announced to premiere at Cannes Film Festival, for its Un Certain Regard section.

Directed by Zachary Wigon and set in Victorian England, “Victorian Psycho” sees an eccentric governess (Monroe) arrive at a remote gothic manor, where strange happenings stir suspicion that she’s not what she seems. Miss Drusilla Pounds (Templeton) is the picture of a young lady-in-the-making, but inwardly, she carries an intensity and darkness beyond her years.

The film is based on Virginia Feito’s best-selling novel of the same name. Bleecker Street have acquired distribution rights in the U.S., with True Brit on board in the U.K. and Ireland. Anton is fully financing the film and representing international rights.
“Victorian Psycho” is produced by Dan Kagan (“Longlegs”) under his Traffic banner as well as Sebastien Raybaud (“Greenland: Migration”) for Anton and Wigon, in association with Anonymous Content. EPs include Anonymous Content’s Nick Shumaker and Bard Dorros, Feito, and Bleecker Street’s Kent Sanderson and Miranda King.
Templeton is repped by Independent Talent Group and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
