Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) reinvents Resident Evil with “a seriously fucked up situation” in the teaser trailer.
Austin Abrams (Weapons) stars as Bryan, a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in a non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.
Based on the iconic video game franchise, the horror film opens in theaters and IMAX on September 18 via Sony.
Cregger directs from a script he co-wrote with Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapters 3 & 4).
Zach Cherry (“Severance”), Kali Reis (“True Detective: Night Country”), Paul Walter Hauser (“Black Bird”), and Johnno Wilson (“Twisted Metal”) round out the cast.
Cregger produces alongside Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer, Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee & Miri Yoon, and PlayStation Productions’ Carter Swan & Asad Qizilbash. Executive producers include Oliver Berben, Victor Hadida, Richard Wright, and Robert Bernacci.

Evie Templeton in "Wednesday"
Evie Templeton (“Wednesday,” Return to Silent Hill) has been announced as part of the Victorian Psycho cast, per Variety.
She joins Maika Monroe (It Follows), Jason Isaacs (“The White Lotus”), Ruth Wilson (“Luther”), Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho), Amy De Bruhn (“Line of Duty”), and Jacobi Jupe (Hamnet).
The psychological horror thriller will premiere at Cannes next month before hitting theaters on September 25 via Bleecker Street.
Monroe stars as an eccentric governess who arrives at a remote gothic manor where strange happenings stir suspicion that she’s not what she seems.
Templeton plays Drusilla Pounds, the picture of a young lady-in-the-making, but inwardly, she carries an intensity and darkness beyond her years.
Zachary Wigon (Sanctuary) directs from a script by Virginia Feito, based on her 2025 novel of the same name.
Wigon produces alongside Dan Kagan (Longlegs) for Traffic, Sebastien Raybaud (The Night House) for Anton, and Nick Shumaker (Another Earth) for Anonymous Content.
